The Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) of Cuba reported that thanks to the analysis of 1,470 samples carried out until midnight this Saturday, October 15, seven new infections of COVID-19 in the country.
The most recent part The health agency points out that there were no deaths related to the disease on the day, so the 8,530 deaths since the start of the pandemic and the case fatality rate of 0.77% remain the same.
Currently, 48 people are admitted, nine more than the previous day. Of these, 30 are suspected of having been infected with the SARS-Cov-2 virus, while the confirmed active ones are now set at 18.
Of the new patients, three are women and four are men, whose ages are included in the following segments: under 20 years of age (3); from 20 to 39 years (1); from 40 to 59 years old (1) and over 60 years old (2).
As for their sources of infection, four are contacts of confirmed cases, one recently returned to the country with the disease and the route of infection of two people could not be specified.
This time the most affected province was Santi Spíritus with three reported cases, and infections were also reported in Artemisa, Matanzas and Camagüey.
The Minsap also confirmed that the two evacuated at the beginning of the pandemic and the 57 returned to their countries remain. It also transpired that four medical discharges were granted on the day and that no patient with confirmed contagion receives care in intensive care units.
