Midagri: More than 100,000 titles of agricultural producers will be registered in Sunarp this year

The Minister of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri), Patricia Ocampo Escalante, stated today that, as part of the Second Agrarian Reform, she announced that by the end of this year more than 100,000 property titles of small producers will be registered with Sunarp. at the national level.

Similarly, the head of Midagri said that tomorrow the Board of Directors of the Agroperú fund will meet to approve the allocation of S / 28 million, destined for the financial rescue of those producers who have had debt problems due to the pandemic or the economic crisis.

“With this measure, it is expected to buy that debt so that producers can pay that debt for up to six years, thus guaranteeing that they do not lose their land and that they can contribute to the food security of our population”he remarked.

In addition, he said that to date, the Agroperú fund, through the direct financing program for the agricultural campaign at the national level, approved 72,107 credits in the amount of S/ 894.9 million, managing to disburse so far the sum of S/ 732.9 million. for producers from all regions of the country.

Also through the direct financing program for livestock chains, a total of 19,724 credits have been approved to date for an amount of S/ 270.8 million, and that as of Friday the 14th of this month, resources for S/ 230.6 million have been disbursed.

Minister Ocampo reported that only in the case of the Apurímac region, credits for S/ 35.5 million were approved to finance agricultural and livestock production.

Likewise, he highlighted the launch of the Siembra más credit program, aimed at granting timely financing to agricultural organizations, whose partners are small producers, in order to be able to acquire agricultural inputs, which includes fertilizers, and thus meet the requirements of the 2022- 2023.

He indicated that the resources available from Siembra más amount to S/ 600 million and that they are part of the money destined to attend the programs of the Agroperú fund, to cover the needs of small producers and their agrarian organizations of which they are members. Farmers belonging to the organizations will be able to access financing at an annual interest rate of 3.5%.

At another point in her presentation, Minister Ocampo stated that this week the itinerant markets of “La Chacra a la Olla” of Agro Rural will be activated to facilitate the access of rural producers to consumers, in order to offer affordable prices. different products accessible, such as potatoes.

He considered that in recent weeks, according to Sisap records, an “exaggerated increase” in the price of potato varieties has been detected in retail markets, ranging between S/ 4.00, S/ 5.00 and up to S/ 9.00 per kilogram. , when the price of potatoes in farms is between S/ 1.40 and S/ 1.50, and that “this increase is caused by speculative actions by some merchants.”

In addition, the head of Midagri reported that to date the registration in the Register of Agricultural Producers (PPA) is advancing rapidly and that to date it has 732,000 registered farmers nationwide, and the goal is to reach the end of this year with a million records.

He even announced that in 2023 the goal is to cover all producers in the national territory, which involves 2.2 million.

“With the PPA, information is collected on its productive potential, allowing projects to be focused with a territorial approach (planning, production and control from the bottom up) and optimizing public spending, through the articulation of productive and commercial chains, in addition to to create the Digital Identity of the Producer”he remarked.
