The Civil Defense of Paraná reported that 35 municipalities were affected by the heavy rains that have fallen in the state since last week. According to the most recent balance, released this Saturday (15), 14,800 people were affected. 96 people are homeless and 80 remain homeless. Five deaths have been confirmed. One person is missing.
According to the local government, the affected municipalities are receiving assistance from state security forces and municipalities, which are delivering mattresses, blankets, personal hygiene and cleaning items.
The municipality of Dois Vizinhos was one of the most affected. In the locality, 4,700 people were affected by the storms. A thousand people who were left homeless managed to return to their homes. About 280 homes were damaged.
There were also landslides on BR 277, at the height of kilometer 42, towards the coast. Officials from the Department of Highways (DER) are working to remove blocks of stone that caused the ban. The highway operated as a single lane in the morning of todaybut the ban will be carried out again from 18 pm.
At fridayOn the 14th, the state government declared a state of emergency. The decree will make it possible to speed up service to the population, authorizing the mobilization of government areas to help the affected population.
