The Defense Commission of the Congress announced that it is expected to have the presence of the Minister of the Interior, Willie Huerta, at the next session of said working group, which will take place on October 17 starting at 2:00 pm The objective is for the head of the Ministry to clarify the doubts of some of the congressmen who are members of the commission.
The invitation to Huerta was announced this Saturday on the agenda of the commission chaired by legislator Diego Bazán, in which This meeting is listed as the first activity on the agenda.
If he appears at the session of said working group, Huerta will have to respond on issues such as the lack of extensions of states of emergency, appointments of officials in different sectors of the Ministry who do not have experience for the positionand the process of promotion of generals of arms for the period 2022-2023, among others.
These doubts have been raised by congressmen José Cueto Aservi, from Renovación Popular; Diego Bazán Calderón, from Avanza País; Alfredo Azurín, from Somos Perú; and Alex Paredes, from the Magisterial Bloc; all of them members of the Defense Commission and that they hope that Huerta’s presence can serve to answer these questions.
However, a source close to the office of the president of the Defense Commission, Diego Bazán, stated that the minister Willy Huerta has not yet confirmed his presence in the fourth ordinary session of said commission due to the urgency of the request.
“The session is at 2 in the afternoon, so it is still too early to ensure their presence, usually these types of invitations are answered the same day they are made in the morning”said the source to The Republic.
