On Wednesday, October 5, he visited two demarcations governed by the opposition. One of them was Magdalena Contreras, where the mayor Luis Gerardo Quijano accompanied the president.
“The mayor is my guest at the report and he did us the favor of receiving us, I ask for respect,” said the president before the microphone, after the mayor received whistles.
In Benito Juárez, governed by PAN member Santiago Taboada, the head of government gave her report without the presence of the mayor.
The same thing happened days later with Sandra Cuevas de Cuauhtémoc, Lía Limón de Álvaro Obregón, Alfa González de Tlalpan and Mauricio Tabe de Miguel Hidalgo, who also did not attend the official report in the Mexico City Congress.
Through a statement issued on October 7, the five mayors assured that the reason for their absence was for personal and political reasons.
The PRI member Adrián Ruvalcaba, from Cuajimalpa, and the PAN member Giovani Gutiérrez, from Coyoacán, both belonging to the “Va por la CDMX” alliance, did accompany the president in her fourth report, both in the National Auditorium, and in their demarcations and in the Local Congress.
The mayors of Morena in Gustavo A. Madero, Tláhuac, Iztapalapa, Xochimilco and Milpa Alta not only accompanied the head of government in her fourth report, but also organized massive events to show the “muscle” of support for the president.
