The Prefecture found at least 170 kilos of cocaine hidden in bags inside a ship which was in transit in the Port of Montevideoconfirmed to The Observer from the National Army.

As reported by Telenoche, the ship had as final destination Tenerife, Spain, and one planned stopover in the port of Santos, in Brazil. The media reported that there is a Uruguayan detained.

The case was taken up by the Narcotics Prosecutor, Monica Ferrero, as pointed out by the Prosecutor’s Office.

In addition to the Prefecture, the National Customs Directorate also participated in the operation.
