The first of them in the community of Heliópolis, early in the morning, where Haddad told supporters that he will correct and increase the minimum wage in São Paulo, currently R$1,284. “In January 2023, the minimum wage will go to R$1,580 and the ICMS (Tax on the Circulation of Goods and Services) on meat will be zero so you can go back to eating barbecue at the weekend. Not only meat, but the basic food basket as well”, promises the candidate.

In the afternoon, he took part in a walk on Teacher’s Day, which began on Avenida Paulista and ended at Praça da República, in the center of the capital, where, in front of the headquarters of the state secretary of Education, Haddad addressed the teachers and said which will re-discuss a decree issued by the state government that determined a contribution of up to 16% on the amounts received by retirees and pensioners in the state of São Paulo.

“The first thing we are going to do in January is to open a negotiation table for us to put an end to the evil that was committed against the category”, he added.

The candidate for the government of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas, from the São Paulo Pode Mais Coalition, had no agenda this Saturday.
