Through an agreement signed this October 14, between the Ministry of Housing and Territorial Planning (MVOT), through the Together plan, and the Municipality of Río Negro, 32 housing solutions will be built for families in conditions of social vulnerability in Fray benthos. The head of the portfolio, Irene Moreira, reported that 28 of these houses will be destined for female heads of household.
The event, held at the departmental government headquarters, was also attended by the head of that institution, Omar Lafluf; the general coordinator of the Together plan, Rody Macías, and the general secretary of the administration, Jorge Gallo.
Moreira explained, in his oratory, that all the housing programs of the MVOT are carried out in Río Negro. He added that, in this case, 112 plan participants will help build the 32 houses. On the other hand, he referred to the 50% reduction in the time to build houses, caused by the use of non-traditional methods and materials implemented by the ministry.
Meanwhile, Lafluf highlighted the joint work with the portfolio and detailed the different projects coordinated with the agency. Among them, he highlighted those of Mevir that will be carried out soon in the towns of San Javier, Nuevo Berlin and Sarandí de Navarro.
Through the agreement, the administration will provide the land where the houses will be installed and will contribute with the necessary machinery for the conditioning of the space.
The housing group will be called Vanguardia Artiguista and will entail new housing solutions, infrastructure works and the participation of the beneficiary families in a project that will include social and community intervention.
