Two weeks after the end of the mandatory use of the mask in Chile, the Ministry of Health (Minsal) confirmed that no region has decreased its new cases in the last 7 days, while only 10 regions have done so in the last 14 days.
According to sample collection, the regions with the highest positivity in the last week are O’Higgins, Metropolitana, Biobío and La Araucanía.
Meanwhile, the Ñuble region has the highest current incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by the Biobío, Atacama and Maule regions.
According to today’s report, of the 4,771 new cases of Covid-19, 2,865 correspond to symptomatic people and 656 have no symptoms. In addition, 1,250 Positive PCR tests were registered that were not notified.
The total number of people who have been diagnosed with the virus in the country reaches 4,674,373. Of this total, 17,801 patients are in the active stage. The recovered cases are 4,584,331.
As for deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours there were 15 deaths from causes associated with the coronavirus. The total number of deaths amounts to 61,412 in the country.
To date, 85 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 60 are supported by mechanical ventilation. In relation to the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 294 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are located.
Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, the results of 36,811 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported yesterday, reaching a total of 45,618,677 analyzed nationwide to date. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 12.1% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 15.28%.
Regarding the Sanitary Residences, we have 19 accommodation facilities, with a total of 1,151 beds. The actual occupation at the national level is 33%, leaving a total of 596 beds available for use.
