Twenty people died during the attack on the City Hall of San Miguel Totolapan, Guerrero, including Mayor Conrado Mendoza Almeda and his father.
It is presumed that it was a dispute by a group known as Los Tequileros.
After the attack, blockades were reported on the Iguala-Ciudad Altamirano federal highway, in Guerrero, with heavy-duty vehicles and buses to prevent the arrival of security forces.
Evelyn Salgado, governor of the state, lamented and condemned the murder of Mayor Conrado Mendoza. The state president asserted on social networks that there will be no impunity in the face of aggression.
President Andrés Manuel López Obrador also affirmed that in the massacre that occurred in San Miguel Totolapan, Guerrero, there will be no impunity.
“I hope that those responsible are punished, that those responsible are arrested and punished, that is what is being done. I cannot, for logical reasons, give more information, but action is being taken because impunity is not allowed,” he said.
