The Presidential Commission for the Control and Prevention of Covid-19 reported this Friday, October 14, a total of 18 new cases in the country, which are divided into 14 community infections and four imported ones.
The report was released by the Minister of Communication and Information, Freddy Ñáñez, through his Twitter account. In its publicationindicated that the community cases came from Guárico (6), Yaracuy (4), Vargas (1), Monagas (1), Miranda (1) and Bolívar (1).
In the state with the most infections of the day, Guárico, the six infections occurred in the Juan Germán Roscio municipality. The official did not offer further details on whether it was the same chain of infections.
These data reflect a substantial decrease in covi-19 cases in recent months and a move away from the main infectious points during the worst stages of the pandemic, since the states with the highest infections used to be the Capital District, Miranda and Zulia.
On the other hand, the imported cases detected by the Venezuelan government corresponded to infected travelers from Panama (3) and the Dominican Republic (1). The four infections were identified at the Simón Bolívar de Maiquetía International Airport, in Vargas.

In addition, Ñáñez reported that during the day on Friday a person died from covid-19. This is a 64-year-old man from the Portuguesa state. With his death, Venezuela registers a total of 5,819 deaths.

Currently, the Chavista government reports 462 active cases, that is, people who currently suffer from the disease. The majority, 350, receive community care and the rest are distributed among different types of health centers.
Among this group of 462 active cases, Ñáñez explained that 217 remain without symptoms, 125 suffer from mild acute respiratory failure, another 75 moderate failure and another 45 severe failure, for which they receive care in intensive care units.
