The Secretary of Commerce fined supermarket chains for $404 million

The Ministry of Commerce fined several supermarket chains for more than $400 million for non-compliance with respect to prices, stock and signage of the Care Prices program, reported the state agency.

For violations of articles 4 and 7 of the Consumer Defense Law (No. 24,240), Carrefour supermarkets were fined $217,500,000; Day, with $138,600,000; and Walmart, with $26,600,000.

Jumbo was also sanctioned for $19,200,000; Reserve, with $ 2,400,000; and Josimar, with $450,000.
