At the end of the event, people left in a hurry, causing each other to trample on each other
Two dead and 18 injured is the initial result of a stampede that occurred early this Friday in the “Angelo Hernández” coleus manga, located in Santa Teresa del Tuy (Miranda), according to unofficial data.
Preliminary versions indicate that a concert by the Colombian singer Nelson Velásquez was taking place in the place as part of the programming of the patron saint festivities in that Mirandina town.
At the end of the event in the early hours of the morning, people began to leave in a hurry, which caused each other to trample each other, according to initial versions.
Rescue personnel transferred the injured to the “Santa Teresita de Jesús” hospital, located on San Rafael street in the aforementioned town of Tuyera. The preliminary diagnosis says that “they presented general polytrauma, due to being run over by a multitude of people.”
The deceased are identified as Leidy Maoly Roa Araque (35), who lived on the main street of Los Mamones, adjacent to the field, Santa Teresa del Tuy; and Karina Castillo (35), who lived in the El Habanero sector of the aforementioned Mirandina population.
