The Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) completed this Friday morning the transfer of the materials that will be used in the consultation centers in the National District and the municipalities of the province of Santo Domingo.
That dispatch was started last Wednesday and, according to the instructions, these materials should be in the hands of the presidents of the consultation centers, so that this Saturday they can test the equipment and verify that everything works properly for the consultation on Sunday where The sympathy of five candidates to be the organization’s presidential candidate for the 2024 elections will be measured.
“The test thing is because it is electronic equipment, it is a machine that the Central Electoral Board has provided, for which the PLD with a company that it contracted in digital matters prepared software and programmed those computers to place the ballot that will serve citizens to choose the candidate of their sympathy”, explained Hector OliveDirector of Communications for PLD.
He said that the intention is that at 5:00 in the morning on Sunday these equipments begin to be installed so that at 8:00 in the morning the process can begin.
Regarding the process, the Secretary for Electoral Affairs of the PLD, Tommy Galananticipated that the results of the internal consulting next Sunday will be announced that same day, just a few hours after the selection process of the candidate for the presidential candidacy concludes.
“We think that at 8:00 at night, no later than 9:00 at night, it will be possible, although there are no definitive results for 100 percent of the minutes, but possibly a trend with a high level of percentage of the tally sheets scrutinized”, Galán explained to the journalists who approached him at the national headquarters of the PLD.
He said that the process has been carried out in a transparent manner, precisely to guarantee the unity that the Party proclaims.
Time and place of voting for candidates
The presidential candidate Francisco Dominguez Brito will vote in his native Santiago at 9:30 am at the Politecnico Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes.
While the former Vice President of the Republic, Margarita Cedenowill vote at the Santa Teresa de Jesús school, in the National District, at 10:30 in the morning
Abel Martinez will vote at 11:00 in the morning in Santiago, at the Politecnico Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes.
As long as Karen Ricardo will be voting at 11:00 in the morning at the Belize Basic School, in Cancino, Santo Domingo East.
While at 12:00 noon the applicant Maritza Hernandez will vote at table 97, in the Republic of Guatemala basic school, in the National District.
