The candidate for re-election to the Presidency of the Republic by the PL, Jair Bolsonaro, celebrated the drop in violence rates in the country. He spoke during a rally held this Friday (14) in the city of Duque de Caxias, in Baixada Fluminense.
“Femicide has fallen. Does anyone have news that the number of gays killed in Brazil has risen? It didn’t go up, because it went down. Yesterday’s preliminary data [indicam que], for the first time in the history of Brazil, the number of violent deaths will be below 20 per 100 thousand inhabitants. It is a government that fights violence in our Brazil,” Bolsonaro said.
The candidate also declared that, if he is reelected, he will propose, together with the National Congress, the reduction of the criminal age, being able to impute crimes in a harsher way to young people between 16 and 18 years old, who today benefit from lesser sentences than adults.
“It is a government that is open to everyone, that is about inclusion, peace, love, but also responsibility. You can be sure that that big boy, who is used to stealing a cell phone, we, next year, will approve the reduction of the criminal age”, he said.
Bolsonaro addressed security professionals promising to support changes in the exclusion of illegality, already provided for in Article 23 of the Penal Code, which excludes the culpability of illegal conduct in certain circumstances. The bill presented to the Chamber of Deputies by Bolsonaro proposes that the judge can reduce the sentence by up to half or stop applying it if the excess results from excusable fear, surprise or violent emotion. “Dear Brazilian police officers, civil and military, next year we will approve the exclusion of illegality, to give you peace of mind to be able to work”.
Minas Gerais
In the afternoon, Bolsonaro and his deputy, General Braga Netto, met with mayors and vice presidents in Belo Horizonte, with the presence of the re-elected governor, Romeu Zema (Novo). The president made an appeal for everyone to seek to turn votes and take elderly people to the polls who did not vote in the first round.
“I humbly ask you, who are with the people at the end of the line, mayors and vice presidents. Help Brazil not to go backwards. Refresh the memory of those who voted for PT. Let’s bring that vote to our side. Let’s turn, Minas Gerais. Many of our grandparents and parents did not vote because the line was too long. Let’s take our grandparents to vote. Let’s work. Talk to the neighbor. Often indoors. Let’s change votes. And we are going to win this election,” Bolsonaro said.
