Inflation in Argentina rose to 6.2% and forecasts an annual 83%

The inflation in Argentina measured in the month of September a 6.2%as reported by the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (Indec).

The general level of the CPI accumulated a rise of 66.1% in the first nine months of the yearand in the year-on-year comparison it registered an increase of 83%, the agency specified.

At the category level, the so-called Seasonals (11.7%) led the monthly increase –explained, in part, by the increases in Clothing, Vegetables, tubers and legumes, and Fruits– followed by the Core CPI (5. 5%) and, finally, Regulated (4.5%).

It was then located alcoholic beverages and tobacco (9.4%)in which the increase in cigarettes stood out.

Also noteworthy was the wage increase for workers in private homes -which had an impact on Home equipment and maintenance (6%)-, as well as the rises in public transport fares and the drag left by the increase in fuel prices at the end of August, which had an impact on the Transportation division (5.8%).

For its part, the increase in Food and non-alcoholic beverages (6.7%) was what had the most impact in all regions, within which the increase in Vegetables, tubers and legumes stood out; Oils, fats and lard; and fruits.
