The draft pension reform promoted by the government does not improve passivities, it weakens what future retirees will receive, according to the Social Director representing workers at the Social Security Bank (BPS), Ramón Ruiz.

Social security is much more than pensions and pensions. the reform must be comprehensive, that is, it must cover the entire protection matrix and all the Savings Banks.
it’s a cutout
To ensure the economic sustainability of the system, they choose to cut spending on retirement and pensions (for us it is investment in social security) and rule out the possibility of creating new sources of financing, or eliminating employer privileges and exemptions.
Another reform is possible
Faced with this negative proposal, we reaffirm the promotion of a comprehensive Social Security project, which arises from the debate of all the actors, based on contributory equity, justice and solidarity, to build the social security that Uruguayans deserve.
