Judge Jazohara Zamora, of the Siuna Specialized Violence Court, sentenced Wilmer González Méndez to two life sentences for the double murder that occurred on July 22, 2021, in Mulukukú, North Caribbean of the country.
The court issued a life sentence for the aggravated murder of Diagnnie Dayriris Boniche, 29, and another life sentence for the aggravated murder of Luz Maritza González, 53. The victims were mother and daughter.
Also, he sentenced González Méndez to 20 years in prison for the aggravated rape against Diagnnie Dayiris Boniche and one year in prison for illegally carrying weapons.

The crimes occurred at the San Jerónimo farm, which was owned by the victims, and where the murderer worked as a foreman.
For more than 15 months, Wilmer González outwitted the Nicaraguan justice system and it was not until October 6 that the National Police managed to capture him.
The authorities detailed that the subject was detained at his brother-in-law’s house, located in the rural community of El Zopilote, municipality of Rosita, on the North Caribbean Coast.
The subject accused of the double murder in Mulukukú was included in the list of the most wanted criminals by the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol, for its acronym in English). In addition, relatives and friends of the victims circulated the photo of González on social networks, for whom they offered the amount of 300 thousand córdobas to whoever gave notice of his whereabouts.

In the preliminary hearing, held on October 8, González admitted committing the double murder before Judge Jazohara Zamora.
Also present at the hearing were Elsa Valle, mother and grandmother of the victims, and Lubianka Boniche, daughter and sister of Maritza and Dayiris, who spoke and asked for justice for the double homicide.
“I don’t have the strength to express so much pain that fills my heart, but I want to thank the Nicaraguan authorities for their work and dedication in this tragic case, which I know has moved not only Nicaragua, but also transcended borders,” said Lubianka, Twin sister of Dayiris Boniche.
Likewise, he maintained that “I know that there will be no years in which he can pay for what he did to us, snatching the two most important women in our lives in the most vile and cruel way, no one deserves to go through what they went through in their last moments, nor we who are here in life, do not deserve, nor did we deserve to live this nightmare ».
He added that “I will never understand the actions of this man, after so much love, so much support and trust that my mother and sister gave him, not only them, but also my brother, my father and even me.”
Lubianka Boniche also told the judge that her 15-year-old brother needs his mother and sister more than ever. On behalf of her entire family, the daughter and sister of the victims requested, at that time. the maximum penalty for Wilmer González.
