The head of government Claudia Sheinbaum stated at a press conference that after the meeting held by local and federal health authorities and specialists, it was concluded that in the capital, although the use of face masks is not mandatory, it is recommended for spaces with a high concentration of people and little ventilation.
The president added that the main recommendation will be in public transport such as the Metro, Metrobús, trolleybuses, Light Rail, taxis, among others, but she was emphatic that it is not mandatory.
It is expected that it will be this week when the guidelines are published in the Official Gazette of Mexico City, either in the normal edition or BIS that is released in the afternoon or evening.
According to health sources in Mexico City, the determination to maintain the recommendation is due to the start of the cold season and an increase in respiratory diseases, including influenza and Covid-19.
