The president indicated that the popular economy needs credit that it will not come from the traditional financial system of Colombia, but rather, as Acopi proposes, “a national development bank is needed, even with development credit.”

Therefore, “the second-tier funds that remain from the government can be transformed, all of them, into a first-tier bank for the development of the popular economy of Colombia,” Petro detailed.
And he added: “What can not? Banco Agrario exists and can also be developed as a bank for promoting the popular urban economy of Colombia.: a megabank, that is, the largest bank in Colombia. It would be the Popular Agrarian Bank again”.

At the end of his speech, the president spoke about a possible economic recession worldwide, he proposed to the country’s micro, medium and small entrepreneurs, to mark out a process of alliance between the state and the popular economy.
