According to the businessman, the demand is not only observed in the capital, “where traditionally” more purchases are generated, but also in the Peruvian coast and some cities in the mountains.

BREAD PRICE
On the other hand, Pío Pantoja announced that there are areas in the country where bread can cost up to S/0.60. He recalled that in one year an increase of 20% has been generated, although its costs have increased by 100%.
One of the reasons for this increase, he explained, is a consequence of the rise in electricity rates that has hit the country’s tambourines.
“Bread is the cheapest product in the food basket. Per capita consumption is increasing because the population does not have money to buy agricultural products and meat that has gone up too much,” he added.
