Spanish singer Miguel Poveda will give a free concert in Havana

The singer Miguel Poveda, National Music Prize of Spainwill offer this Thursday a free concert with the renowned Cuban instrumentalist and singer Alain Perezin the Amphitheater of the Historic Center of Havana, according to official media reports.

The Catalan artist hopes to “gift the people of Cuba and give them back so much of the inspiration and joy” that he assures has given them”, while he considers himself a “great admirer” of the island’s traditional music, something that he claims to have “shown a little “at their concerts”, refers the agency Latin Press (PL).

Poveda and Pérez once shared the stage at the Teatro Martí in the capital. “We have transferred our rights so that this concert can be broadcast throughout Cuba through national television,” said the Spanish artist about his presentation this Thursday.

The flamenco cultivator arrived in Cuba as a guest to participate in the activities for Hispanic Heritage Day, organized by the Embassy of Spain, and already on the island he arranged his concert for the Cuban public.

“We are going to visit schools and bring our music closer to those who want to share and listen to us. We love you very much and we are happy to have managed to bring you our poetry and flamenco”, said the musician, quoted by PL.

Poveda is the winner of the Latin Gold Award for Best Flamenco Singer, and has invited Alain Pérez to collaborate in the production of his next album, who will also he deserved that award awarded in the European nation as Best Producer and Composer, remember the publication.

According to reports for their second joint presentation on the island, Poveda and Pérez will have local guests such as the group Ronald and Explosión Rumbera.

The Spanish musician has been nominated for the Latin Grammy Awards on several occasions, and his career has been marked by constant experimentation and the mixture of the typical genres of his country with other rhythms and styles, which has earned him important international awards.
