Madrid Spain.- The Cuban authorities request eight years of deprivation of liberty for the activist Diasniurka Salcedo for the alleged crimes of “outrage against national symbols” and “instigation to commit a crime.”
As Salcedo explained this Wednesday through Facebookthey searched his house and found a flag that said “Homeland and Life.”
He also declared that he is accused of “incitement to commit a crime for his direct actions and defamation against a public figure.”
“In this case the president of another, because it is not mine,” he said about it.
“The court confirmed the sentence and I have ten business days to appeal,” said the opponent.
In his publication Salcedo also thanked all those who have been concerned about his situation.
“They may imprison my body, but they will never change my conviction. It’s forever,” said the activist.
After the passage of Hurricane Ian, after Díaz-Canel visited Pinar del Río, Salcedo said from a direct Facebook: “It is very outrageous to see how you pose for a photo when there are lots of homeless people, without housing, without power, without water, without a place to sleep. And that you have the nerve to tell the people of Cuba that we have to help each other.”
Last June, Diasniurka Salcedo was arrested by agents of the National Revolutionary Police (PNR). After hours detained, she was released with a precautionary measure.
“Everything is fine within the bad time. the important thing [es que] we are alive and God with me and my family. Nothing is more important than family. Thanks to those who cared and took care, ”she wrote on her social networks on that occasion.
In September 2020, Salcedo was also arrested on public roads by PNR agents when she was about to deliver some medicines and receive others, destined for families in need.
As narrated, the arrest was violent. A woman dressed in a PNR uniform and two men dressed in civilian clothes handcuffed her and pushed her inside patrol 7022 of the Operative Guard; she also took her cell phone and her wallet.
Salcedo is a promoter of the community project “Casa a Casa”, through which donations of food and medicine are delivered to people in need. To that end, she also created the Facebook group called “Las Marianas del Presente.”
