The Spanish-Argentine Sol Martínez Fainberg added three medals in the finals for rhythmic gymnastics apparatus of the South American Games in Asunción, dominated one more edition by the Brazilian representatives.
Martínez Fainberg won silver in clubs with a score of 30,150 and two bronzes in hoop contests, with 29,050 points, and ball, with 30,400. She in her final fourth was fourth in ribbon, with 26,950 points.
The Brazilian Geovanna Santos prevailed in hoop and her compatriot Barbara de Kassia in ball, clubs and ribbon. This Thursday the final of the general contest will be held, in which the gymnasts will present the four apparatus again to decide the absolute champion of South America.
Martínez Fainberg, born in Oviedo 19 years ago, trains in León with Ruth Fernández and since 2015 has represented Argentina, the country of her parents, in international competitions. It is her second participation in a South American Games, after Cochabamba (Bolivia) in 2018, but on that occasion she did not get on the podium.
In the recent world championships in Sofia, the Asturian gymnast ranked 34th. EFE
