In Mexico City they opened 15,176 low-impact businesses January to September 2022, which represents the generation of 144,196 jobs, said the Ministry of Economic Development (Sedeco).
Fadlala Akabani Hneide, head of Sedeco stressed that this is a sign of the city’s economic recovery, since there is an increase in 2,454 new businessescompared to the third quarter of 2021 and exceeds the number registered in 2020, when the pandemic encouraged the cessation of activities and measures of healthy distance.
According to the information obtained through the Electronic System of Notices and Permits of Commercial Establishments (Siapem), the spins that more openings registered are those related to the preparation of food such as restaurants, cafeterias and inns, followed by services and shops.
“One of the most important data that Siapem throws up is the job creationso the opening of these 15,176 establishments represents the generation of 144,196 jobs, this behavior ratifies the trend that the City is experiencing as the main entity in the creation of formal jobs, derived from the boost to economic activities “he indicated.
The municipalities that have registered the most business creation are: Cuauhtémoc (3.0 32), Benito Juárez (1,799), Miguel Hidalgo (1,315) and Gustavo A. Madero (1,231).
Only him first semester of the year, the creation of 9,680 low-impact businesses had been registered, an increase of 20% compared to the previous year.
