Deputies of the National Renewal (RN) and the UDI requested the resignation of the director of the Santiago Metro Nicholas Valenzuela, due to old tweets in which he alluded to the massive evasion of public transport in the framework of the social outbreak. In this regard, they conditioned their support for some items of the Budget Law -on transport matters- to the fulfillment of their request.
“Evade, don’t pay, another way to fight #EvasionMasiva,” Valenzuela wrote on Twitter, in a tweet published on October 18, 2019. The publication went viral yesterday on social networks.

For his part, the deputy Juan Antonio Coloma (UDI) stated that “not only do we ask for the resignation, but we also announce that if this does not happen, we will reject the Transantiago budget item and reduce the entire Budget allocated to evasion.”
“It cannot be that who until a few years ago did not hesitate to call for evasion, today is asking for a budget to be able to pay said evasion.
