The Presidents of the Board of Superior Prosecutors at the national level and National Coordinators of the Specialized Prosecutors of the Public ministry today issued a statement supporting the action of the Prosecutor’s Office after filing the constitutional complaint against the president peter castle for alleged crime of criminal organization, among others.
“We reaffirm ourselves in defending the constitutional autonomy of the Public Ministry against all kinds of interference that affects our institutionality. Prosecutors are not political actors, but justice operators and we do not act under any form of political, media or economic pressure,” said the superior prosecutor Rafael Vela.

“We reiterate our endorsement and support for the institutional decision of the Attorney General of the Nation who, in use of her constitutional powers and attributions, has filed the constitutional complaint against the President of the Republic and other high-ranking civil servants.”, he added.
The complaint was filed last Tuesday, October 11, the same day that preliminary arrests and different raids were carried out in the framework of the investigations against Castillo’s collaborators.
“We consider it necessary to respect the separation of powers for the proper administration of justice, the basis of the democratic system”, Said prosecutor Vela.

The Nation’s prosecutor, Patricia Benavides, stressed that, from now on, it falls to Congress to be able to continue with the investigations of President Pedro Castillo and his entourage, in the face of obvious signs of corruption.
Minutes after the constitutional complaint was filed, Benavides provided a video message in which he remarked that prosecutors “are not political actors, but justice operators” and that the investigation is “based on facts, not people.”
“From this moment it is the exclusive and exclusive responsibility of the Congress of the Republic to decide on the processing of the constitutional complaint, within the framework of the United Nations convention against corruption.”, commented the prosecutor of the Nation.
“Corruption undermines the democratic order and violates human rights; therefore, the fight against corruption in all spheres of the State must be unanimous because only then will immunity not be impunity. Peruvians and Peruvians deserve to know the truth”, he added.
The head of the Public Ministry mentioned that “very serious and revealing indications” of the existence of a criminal organization “entrenched in the Government” have been found.
This network, Benavides pointed out, would be headed by Castillo and made up of former ministers Juan Silva and Geiner Alvarado, as well as the former general manager of Petroperú, Hugo Chávez, among others.
