SANTO DOMINGO.- Ehe vice president of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), Juan Ariel Jiménez, highlighted the qualities of the three main candidates for the Presidency for that organization ahead of the 2024 elections.
In that order, he defined the former Vice President of the Republic, Margarita Cedeño, as a person of State, who has had to occupy highly relevant public positions and promote programs such as social aid, key in difficult times in the country.
“Margarita Cedeño, is definitely a person with experience, capacity and, in addition, with a big heart”, defined her.
About Abel Martínez, he said that he is possibly one of the best mayors the country has had, “someone of whom Santiago feels extremely proud for how efficient he has been.”
He understands that Martínez also knows the State “very well” because he has been a congressman (president of the Chamber of Deputies).
In the case of Francisco Domínguez Brito, he pointed out that he knows the Government almost in its entirety because he has been a prosecutor, Attorney General, Minister of Labor, of the Environment and senator.
Jiménez said that, if one thinks about the main issues for the future and the main challenges that the Dominican Republic faces, something important that must be taken into account is that Brito knows the three powers of the State and is one of the faces of institutionality and fights against the corruption and impunity that the PLD has.
When being interviewed on the program “No se dice más”, which is broadcast from Monday to Friday on Top Latina 101.7 fm, from 12:00 to 2:00 pm, the former Minister of Economy also took time to talk about the other candidates. PLD members and described Karen Ricardo as a community worker and leader from Santo Domingo Este.
In the case of Maritza Hernández, former Minister of Labor, she said that she has strong ties with the union sector and finally, she highlighted that Luis de León is someone who comes from the educational sector, from the Boschist force.
