The businessmen who are members of Andi’s General Management Board, who represent more than 1,500 affiliates from different economic and productive sectors throughout the countryincluding entrepreneurs and medium and large companies, called for a conscious evaluation of the Tax Reform.

They also reiterated their commitment to Colombia’s progress. “We want to express our concern about the effects that the tax reform that is being processed in Congress may have, in terms of growth, investment and employment. We see with great concern, in line with what was publicly stated by the President of the Association, the bill approved in the first debates, against which there is a crucial opportunity to correct its errors, thinking about the future of the country and the well-being of the entire population. We are concerned about the effect of this reform on households, their income and families and on the already very high inflation; the withering of the energy mining sector, the increase in prices on products that are part of the family basket; and the legal stability of sectors that have bet on the country; Colombia’s credibility with the world in terms of investment and markets; and the weakening of the country’s capacity to face the crisis that is predicted for next year”.
According to the companies, this is a genuine call to take care of well-being and maintain an ecosystem conducive to generating opportunities and trust that allow both entrepreneurs and companies, as well as their collaborators, families and citizens in general have the conditions to believe and bet on Colombia.

Likewise, we invite the National Government and Congress to maintain joint work with the business sector unionized in ANDI to achieve a better reform, on which we have already made proposals and will continue to do so, always with the progress of the country, equity and sustainability as a fundamental principle. The business community in Colombia has always been willing to contribute to the economic, social and environmental development of the country, on this occasion we ask to strengthen the democratic dialogue in order to build a reform that allows Colombia to advance along the path of opportunities”.
