Last year Fiss had decided to withdraw from the National Series, a competition in which he played more than 20 seasons with the Tigres de Ciego de Ávila, winning three of them.
Fiss, 42 years old and known as “the base racing car”, throughout his sports career on the Island hit more than 200 home runs and drove in more than 1,000 runs.
