Controversial filmmaker Michael Moore is back with his political predictions. He now he ensures that the democrats will win “big time” in the upcoming midterm elections in November. Moore, 68, believes voters will “go to the polls en masse, a literally overwhelming and unprecedented tsunami of voters who will nonviolently, lawfully and mercilessly eliminate every last traitor to our democracy.”
The film director offers a set of “factual” reasons why it makes sense to believe that the Democrats will succeed in November. He cites as an example a teenager’s ability to defeat a Republican incumbent in a school board race in Idaho in September, which Moore sees as symbolic of “seismic shifts.”
Moore also argues that the American right is just a bunch of “losers.” “Only because of the slave states’ demand for the electoral college, and because of the Republicans’ #1 job in voter manipulation and suppression, do we have to continue to deal with their misogyny, their destruction of planet Earth, their love of guns. and greed, and their mission focused on burying our democracy,” says Moore.
Republicans are “running the largest number of lunatics across the country in American electoral history,” he argues in an installment of the series Tsunami of Truth. The impetus is the desire to harness the liberal energy that Moore calls Roevember (by Roe vs. wade). This energy was on display in Kansas, he says, where voters rejected an anti-abortion amendment after the Supreme Court struck down Roe vs. Wade.
Why doesn’t the media cover the full power of Roevember? Moore asks. The director believes that it is because the main American media continue with pre-established coverage patterns. “A lot of things that the media says are patently false and just plain wrong,” he said. “They are just regurgitating old narratives and outdated scripts. They are too overworked or too lazy or too white and too masculine to open their eyes to the liberal/leftist/progressive/working class and female uprising that is underway right now.”
