The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, inspects this Monday the area of Las Tejerías, Aragua statewhich has been hit by the heavy rains that have occurred in recent hours and which so far has recorded a balance of 36 dead and 56 missing.
Accompanied by the Executive Vice President Delcy Rodríguez, the Sector Vice President of Security A/J Remigio Ceballos and other authorities, the National President personally directs the Rescue and Attention Operations to the communities that make up the capital of the municipality Santos Michelena of the Aragonese entity.
From the disaster area, the head of state thanked the international solidarity that the country has received after the unfortunate events.
“I appreciate the shows of solidarity that have crossed borders and that reach the depths of the hearts of Venezuelans in the face of the unfortunate tragedy of Las Tejerías, after the rains. As peoples we will always be united facing adverse situations », she said.
The head of state spoke with the community and assured, “here you can be absolutely sure that you will have all the backing and support. This town is not alone, rest assured all the merchants and neighbors that we are going to recover the businesses and the houses, here nobody is an orphan », he said.
He urged the affected families to go to the authorized shelters, until the recovery of the properties is achieved.
«Those who had total losses, we have solidarity shelters, until we organize the construction of a new house. No one is going to be abandoned, homeless », he stressed.
“Rest assured, all the merchants, all the neighbors, that we are going to recover every last business, and the last house,” said the National President during the tour of the El Béisbol sector, an area where the greatest material damage and losses are reported. due to the overflow of five streams.
In his opinion, after this tragedy, Las Tejerías “will be reborn like the Phoenix,” emphasizing the reconstruction of the industrial area and the recovery of businesses.
He assured that he was shocked by the images of boys and girls who lost everything, “let’s move forward with unity and patience, I ask you for a vote of confidence to give them back what they lost,” he said.
«The ravines reached up to 10 meters high, we took that pain and the desperation of the people with us. I ask that the shelters be well conditioned while we rebuild the houses. So far we have 400 houses affected and 400 that have been total loss », he said.
He added that the Venezuela Housing Mission is already activated to respond to the people, “we have a building nearby with 200 apartments that we will be able to fit out in approximately two months. It has rained more than in three years and climate change has a lot to do with these climate changes”, he said.
The head of state offered his condolences to the relatives of the deceased.
“I have designated a general for each zone for the 23 affected areas to attend to this entire population,” he added.

In the face of the natural tragedy, the National Government activated an Emergency and Disaster Control and Coordination Center to attend to the affected families.
