The four park rangers of the Apolobamba Integrated Management Natural Area (Anmin) who were missing in northern La Paz from October 7 until last night, are now resting with their respective families.

They left their Anmin Apolobamba camp, near the Madidi National Park, on September 28 with the aim of taking care of the state of biodiversity in a journey that had to last 10 days. Friday the 7th October they lost communication at the height of the Ñecos river, and they had exhausted their food rations, so they were in survival mode for three days.

“It is a rugged area, where it always rains and the river can grow. Luckily they had camping, the problem is that the food ran out, so they ended up exhausted“, said Teodoro Mamani, executive director of the National Service of Protected Areas by the State, who coordinated the logistics for the rescue.

They arrived near the original community Chuntalaca who received them and gave them food and shelter.. Today in the morning they proceeded to rescue him by land.

The four park rangers: René Llaves, Nelson Callancha, Francisco Ticona and Ramiro Barrera; They are already with their families and will have the time they need to recover until they return to their activities. The Anmin Apolobamba team has 25 park rangers who risk their lives every day to care for the biodiversity of the protected area.
