The Superintendence of Banking, Insurance and AFP (SBS) has launched the new service called Accident Report of the Compulsory Insurance against Traffic Accidents (SOAT), through which users and the general public will be able to consult the record of accidents or claims of vehicles covered by this insurance in the last five years.
With this new service, the aim is to promote better road behavior in drivers, considering that the information on their accident record will be public; as well as promoting the transparency of information in the contracting and renewal process of SOAT policies between insurers and users.
The report in question will be updated periodically with information sent by the insurers, it can be obtained in the institutional portal of the SBS, through two consultation modalities: by license plate and by DNI.

In the first case, it is only necessary to enter the plate number to be consulted to obtain the number of accidents reported in the last five years that were covered by the SOAT; in addition to information on the vehicle policies in that period.
In the second case, users will need to register on the Online Services platform of the SBS institutional portal to access their Accident Report, which also provides information regarding the amount of compensation covered by SOAT policies associated with their identity document. .
In the case of legal entities, they may make inquiries through the SBS service offices or parties desk, indicating the name or company name, and the RUC number of the contracting party of the SOAT policy.
