Two agents of the National Police died after a confrontation with alleged drug traffickers. They are S1 Ruber Paucar Alanya (Grupo Terna) and a DIRIN lieutenant in charge of the patrol operation Tom Denis Pérez Cristobal. The wounded were identified as S1 PNP Jerson Fernández Montalván (Group Terna) and ST2 PNP Jorge Gonzales Gómez (from Gopar). The latter two are in the Daniel Alcides Carrión regional hospital in Huancayo.

It was learned that the confrontation occurred in the sector known as Chamicería, a place located 20 minutes east of the Huancayo district. There, the agents who carried out a routine control operation on the units arriving from the Vraem were hit at close range, one in the head and the other in the neck, apparently with long-range weapons.

The death of the agents was certified at the Zarate Clinic where they were transferred. The relatives and other colleagues of the deceased arrive there.
