Movistar and Digitel offer free SMS in solidarity with those affected by the landslide in Las Tejerías

For three days, the telephone operators Movistar and Digitel will offer support to affected by the tragedy in Las Tejerías with the enabling of free text messages.

Through social networks, both telecommunications companies announced this Monday that this is the way in which they will cooperate with their users so that they can stay in communication with their affected relatives.

“To support the population’s communications in the face of the situation generated by the heavy rains, we are enabling free SMS throughout the country for the next 3 days,” Movistar wrote in its Twitter account. Twitter.

He continued: “Technically, SMS is an effective form of communication with less impact on network stability. They also guarantee the connectivity of a greater number of Movistar clients, in all mobile telephony technologies”.

While the operator Digitel, stated that it will grant “free quotas for voice and text messaging services for three days”.

Digitel users in that locality will be able to access both services at no cost.

“These actions will facilitate the search efforts and the approach of relatives who are currently affected. We continue adding efforts to contribute to the population of Las Tejerías”.
