Sebastián Careaga, from Potosí, of the R5 class, was the absolute winner of the Rally Integración del Trópico, which took place over the weekend, but the one who celebrated the most was his countryman Jhonny Tarqui, who won the R2B category and with the points he added, he was awarded the national title for the 2022 season.

The race, the last of this year’s calendar of the Bolivian Federation of Sports Cars (Febad), took place along the routes of the Cochabamba tropics and the only category that remained to define the champion was the R2B.

After Saturday’s session Tarqui was running out of title, because his rival, Jairo Chura from Cochabamba, prevailed on that day, but then left the championship on a platter to Tarqui because he left on Sunday.

In addition to Sebastián Careaga (R5) and Jhonny Tarqui (R2B), who won the weekend, the man from Chuquisaca also climbed to the top of the podium Luis Sandoval (RC2N) and Beymar Moyata (R1B) from Cochabamba.

The pilots who placed first in the different categories in this race received an economic prize of $1,500 each. Those who were second got $1,000 and those who were third received $500.

As for the champions of the 2022 season, the titles went to the potosino Sebastian Careaga (R5), Rodrigo García from Cochabamba who represents Santa Cruz (Proto), Ali Eid Junior from La Paz (RC2N), Franz Torrico from Vallejo (R1B) and Jhonny Tarqui from Potosí (R2B).

“The truth is that I am very happy to have been able to be on the last date of the National Rally Championship and I think it ise has fulfilled the main objective of all sports that is to integrate our country, its people and communities, because it went through eight of the nine departments”, said Sebastián Careaga.
