In recent years, complaints have been increasing from Colombians traveling to Mexico who, in addition to not being admitted to the country, claim to be victims of mistreatment by the immigration authorities of this country.

2. Have accommodation for the entire stay. Remember to carry printed proof of payment, with the details of your hotel. In case you have been invited by someone, you must present a letter of invitation signed by your host, with their contact information, a copy of a proof of address and a copy of the identification of this person.

3. At the time of the interview with the official of the National Migration Institute, be clear and sincere in your answers regarding the purposes of the trip. In addition, you must demonstrate economic solvency that allows to defray expenses during the stay. An average of 100 to 500 US dollars per day is estimated, which includes lodging, food and leisure activities.

4. Have a defined tourist plan and with tickets to parks or tours. You must also present clear information about the means of transport you will use during your stay.

5. Submit a work certificate evidencing the vacation period to be enjoyed.

6. If you travel with minors, without one of their parents, bring simple copies of the permit to leave the country to present to the National Institute of Migration. Remember that the original permit is retained by Migration Colombia when leaving the country.

7. Acquire a international travel assistance insurancein case of any illness or emergency.
