He has a degree in Economics from the IPN and has several master’s degrees, one in Economics and another in International Politics from CIDE, as well as one more in Economic Law from the UAM Xochimilco campus.
In 2020 Osorio Romero was the leader of the National Political Association (APN) ‘United for a better country’ and signed an agreement with Mario Delgado, national president of Morena, to give electoral support to said party in more than 20 entities.
At the beginning of this year, he was proposed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador as one of the independent members for the Technical Committee of the Mexican Petroleum Fund for Stabilization and Development.
However, he did not obtain the necessary votes to be ratified in office, after Senator Damián Zepeda of the PAN criticized that his appointment would represent subordination in a position that should be independent.
Osorio Romero was also a national councilor for the PRD between 1999 and 2002 and a federal deputy for the same party from 1997 to 2000.
