Axel Bachmann and Gabriela Vargas added five medals for Paraguay in the Chess competition that took place at the COP Urban Sports Center.
The Odesur 2022 Games gave rise to chess as an exhibition sport, where Paraguayan representatives won medals for Paraguay. Axel Bachmann was twice gold, in Blitz and Rapid. Gabriela Vargas reached bronze in Blitz. And in the team competition, two bronzes in Blitz and Rapid.
Unfortunately, these medals do not count towards the official medal table of the competition, which has already won 25 medals for Team Paraguay, divided into five gold, 14 silver and six bronze medals.
SILVER MEDAL
The alligators from Paraguay fell to the Yaras from Brazil 17-5, in the Women’s Rugby final. Historical South American runner-up for the Paraguayans, who added a silver medal plus 13 for Team Paraguay.
In turn, the Paraguayan Basketball Team fell in the final for El Oro against the Colombian team by the score of 62-75. The Paraguayans fought until the end, and gave her the Silver medal that made the medal table grow.
