Within the framework of the Iconic Award 2022: Innovative Architecture, the LBR&A workshop, founded by the architect Benjamín Romano, was recognized by the design of the House CH73located in Mexico City and that has a scheme that achieves neutrality in the consumption of water and energy, thanks to solutions of architecture bioclimatic.
The recognition, granted by the German Design Councilis part of the section Best of the Best in Architecturewhere corporate buildings, museums, hotels, shopping centers, housesamong others.
With this award, the LBR&A firm became the first firm in the American continent to obtain this distinction.
Along with this distinction, the XVII Biennial of Mexican Architecture, organized by the Federation of Colleges of Architects of the Mexican Republic, awarded the silver medal to the House CH73 in the single-family home category of more than 300 square meters.
“For the entire LBR&A team, it is an honor to receive these awards that distinguish the innovative and audacious spirit that characterizes our firm at a national and international level, with architectural solutions that solve structural, functional and environmental challenges,” said Benjamín Romano, founder of the renowned firm.
According to Romano, the House CH73 seeks to be a global example of how important and feasible it is to create spaces with a sustainable vision in terms of scale, buildings, towers, airports, among others.

The House CH73 It is located in Mexico City and covers an area of 1,023 square meters, which makes it stand out as a residential building that flies over a ravine with a steel structure and integrates a series of solutions to achieve neutrality in energy consumption. energy and water.
According to the information provided, this water and energy neutrality is materialized with the use of geothermal batteries that take advantage of the natural underground temperature and that help to air-condition the interior of a house, without energy consumption.
In terms of water, the installation of a biodigestor system that treats wastewater to irrigate the federal zone and facilitates the sending of rainwater to the subsoil to improve conditions of flora and fauna in the area stands out.
Other international projects that share the distinction with LBR&A in the 2022 Iconic Awards granted by the German Design Councilare the Suzhou Museum in China, the House of Hungarian Music in Budapest and the Ucenter in Shanghai.
