The Dominican Republic is the venue for the 28th edition of the conference of the Cruise Association of Florida and the Caribbean (FCCA for its acronym in English) that will take place in the capital from this Tuesday, October 11 to Friday, October 14.
The Minister of Tourism, David Colladohighlighted the importance for the country of having managed to host this “cruise ship summit” and that this achievement is part of its effort to strengthen this rapidly growing tourism segment.
“With this meeting of the FCCA, which will take place from this Tuesday to Friday, the eyes of the cruise industry worldwide will be on our country, and its impact to continue growing will be impressive,” said Minister Collado , who will headline the FCCA’s annual conference.
In this 28th edition of the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) conference, 500 personalities from 40 countries have already confirmed their participation.
The minister explained that the Dominican Republic has achieved an important position in cruise tourism. He pointed out that in the period January-September of this year the country received, by sea, 800,000 visitors, including cruise passengers and crew members.
He assured that this event, which brings together the main businessmen of the cruise sector, will offer the country the possibility of finalizing negotiations so that new cruise lines come to the country and that the existing ones increase their gigs.
The 28th edition of the FCCA conference will take place in the Renaissance Santo Domingo Jaragua Hotel & Casinowhere private meetings with cruise lines, discussion panels on the industry, exhibition of a “Market place”.
The FCCA is a non-profit trade organization made up of 22 affiliated cruise companies, which operate more than 100 ships in the state of Florida, the Caribbean and Latin America, while also having platinum members made up of government authorities, ports, tour operators and other service providers.
