Jorge Bogarín, president of the JEM again questioned for corruption

The president of the Magistrates Prosecution Jury (JEM), Jorge Bogarín Alfonso, would be replicating practices linked to proselytizing with the Colorado Party. In addition, he was already accused of planillerism.

According to complaints led by Deputy Kattya Gonzalez, Raúl Benítez, Soledad Blanco, Tanya Bettoni and Juan Grassi, who presented documents on corruption activities at a press conference in the Second Vice Presidency of the Chamber of Deputies.

Bogarín supports Chartism and joined the Council of the Judiciary (CM) as a representative member of the Lawyers Guild, but never released his link with the Honor Colorado movement, led by Horacio Cartes.

ACTIVITIES
Jorge Bogarin Alfonso, President of the Magistrates Prosecution Jury (JEM), has 3 categories: 2 professors in charge of the chair and 1 technical professor.
“The question we ask ourselves is how he can comply with the different schedules, since one consulting the portals should comply with these items from Monday to Friday from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. approximately. And we see that on Tuesdays, for example, at 1:30 p.m. is the JEM session, so we have a specific case of a high authority that makes us think that there could be many cases of items that are taking place, perhaps without the position is being exercised or that absolutely nothing is being done in what has to do with teaching,” said Raúl Benítez, one of the complainants.

BACKGROUND
In June 2021, he participated in a proselytizing act for the campaign of Óscar Nenecho Rodríguez, who was running as a candidate for mayor of Asunción due to Chartism. The lawyer showed fervent support for Rodríguez. A photograph of both together with Raúl Latorre that went viral on Social Networks would prove it
This fact was criticized by the president of the Paraguayan Bar Association, Manuel Riera, also by the senator of the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) Desirée Masi, who expressed her concern because Bogarín is part of the JEM, an institution that must try prosecutors and judges who participated in partisan inmates, when he himself repeats this practice.
