Entrepreneurs exhibit and market their craft products in Manzana Uno

Within the framework of the Bolivian Women’s Day that will be celebrated on October 11 and under the motto ‘Dreamer, Strong and Hardworking’the municipality of Santa Cruz de la Sierra will hold the Women Entrepreneurs Fair, with the aim of exhibiting and marketing the products made by them, promoting their economic autonomy, independence and empowerment.

Isabel Fernández, municipal secretary of Human Development, expressed that economic reactivation is essential in the municipality, For this reason, it is helping to improve the quality of life and economic conditions of women, who in some cases have been victims of violence, promoting the full exercise of their rights and lowering the high rate of gender violence.

More than 200 women from the 15 municipal districts participate, exposing their craft products in different areas such as gastronomy, comprehensive beauty, crafts, jewelry, painting, weaving, pastry, sewing, cosmetology, wood carving, among others.

This is the second of six fairs that are held annually, generating an approximate economic movement of 100,000 bolivianos.

This fair is part of programs and projects for prevention, care, protection and restitution of women’s rights, girls, boys and adolescents, in compliance with the provisions of Law 348, Comprehensive Law to Guarantee Women a Life Free of Violence.
