The head of the police operation and an officer were arrested this Saturday for their actions in the repression during the match of Gymnastics and Fencing of the Silver Y Boca Juniors, which was suspended due to the serious incidents that culminated in one death and several injuries, according to police sources. Both police officers will be investigated this Sunday, the sources reported.
The Federal Police arrested Commissioner Juan Gorbaran -the head of the operation who had been displaced this Friday, accused of malicious havoc- and the main officer Nahuel Falcón -accused of injuries, after having shot at a cameraman from the TyC Sports channel-. The arrest request was made by the prosecutor of La Plata, Martín Almirón, with the endorsement of the Court of Guarantees 6, in charge of Agustín Crispo.
The match between Gimnasia de La Plata and Boca Juniors, corresponding to the Argentine Professional Soccer League, in the city of La Plata, capital of the province of Buenos Aires, was suspended last Thursday night in the 9th minute due to the serious disturbances provoked at the entrances to the stadium by fans who could not enter.
The police intervened by firing rubber bullets and tear gas to disperse these fans. A 57-year-old man died and several attendees received impacts from rubber bullets and other injuries, for which they had to be hospitalized.

The Justice of La Plata investigates the violent repression of the police of the province of Buenos Aires and if there was an overselling of tickets, something that the club denies.
The Minister of Security of the province of Buenos Aires, Sergio Berni, acknowledged this Friday that the police resolved the situation “in the worst way”, but denied having any responsibility in the police operation.
The provincial government removed from office the head of the police operation and the policemen identified in the videos of the repression. Berni remains in his position, but both officials and opposition leaders have pointed to the responsibility of the provincial Security Minister for the police operation.
