On Saturday, the swearing-in of 18,277 men and women who make up the Base Structures of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) in Anzoátegui state.
From the Venezuela stadium, located in the central part of Barcelona, the first vice president of this political organization, Diosdado Cabello, and Governor Luis José Marcano, led the swearing-in ceremony for 15,359 street chiefs, 2,272 community chiefs and 646 heads of Bolívar-Chávez Battle Units (UBCH) from the 21 municipalities that make up the eastern entity.
Accompanied by members of the party’s national leadership, Cabelló indicated that the first task of the street bosses and of UBCH is to guarantee education for all boys and girls in the state. He said that they must ensure that all minors of school age attend classes.
Sworn grassroots leaders
Before taking the oath, Cabello reminded the newly elected members of the strength they give to the party with the process of renewing the bases.
He asked everyone to assume the new responsibility with the rigor it has and give symbolic content to the act of swearing in “to offer life” based on the oath that has been made in 12 other states of the country.
Before swearing for the revolution, he handed over the PSUV banner and the work manual of the base structures to a group of militants who received the most votes in the internal process, headed by Patricia Castaño.
Likewise, it guaranteed that the manual would reach all the street, community and UBCH bosses.
“This banner is full of symbolism, in that banner is the history of the Bolivarian revolution and of Chavez, is the future of the homeland, the face of all of us is there,” said the PSUV national leader during his visit to Barcelona.
He asked that with revolutionary fervor, that their voices resound throughout the country and cross borders.
Anzoátegui at the forefront with women in grassroots structures
Cabello highlighted that the base structures of Chavismo in Anzoátegui are in the hands of women, who have a presence of 78%.
“More than 78% of the positions are women. When we see in every street of Venezuela, the People gathered in assembly, that the majority are women confirms that the Revolution is in the best hands, “she said.
He stressed that Anzoátegui is at the forefront with the Bolivarian revolution and that it is prepared for any battle scenario.
“We are Chavista territory”
During the swearing-in ceremony for the newly elected grassroots leaders of the PSUV, the regional liaison and governor of the entity, Luis José Marcano, affirmed that the extraordinary demonstration of strength and commitment in the renewal process and in the swearing-in act ratify that “Anzoátegui is Chavista territory.”
He congratulated the street, community and UBCH teams for their extraordinary participation.
He thanked the presence of the national leaders Pedro Infante, Pedro Carreño and Clara Vidal, of the Bolivarian and Chavista mayors of the state.
In addition, he invited the new base leaders and the militants of the red tent to continue working together so that the state is an example of unity, and in this regard he said that the swearing-in act is a solid demonstration.
“The street, community and UBCH leaders who were elected in the recent PSUV elections have the responsibility, from their spaces, to advance in the recovery and reconstruction of a solid majority that guarantees resounding electoral victories for the Revolution,” assured the governor.

The young Ada Martínez, who at the age of 15 was elected head of a UBCH in the Anaco municipality, was in charge of welcoming the party authorities and the militancy that filled the spaces of the iconic stadium in the capital city from early on .
Martínez assured that his young age does not take away his desire to fight for the country.
“Let our actions speak louder than our words. Chávez remains in our hearts and Maduro remains firm on behalf of an entire people”, he told his fellow party members. In the same way he asked not to stop fighting and continue defending the revolutionary homeland.
