MADRID, Spain.- Dozens of Cubans came out this Saturday night to demonstrate in Jagüey Grande, Matanzas province, against President Miguel Díaz-Canel and the mismanagement of his government.
In several videos shared through social networks by the platform sing it tv and different users listen to Cubans asking for freedom to the rhythm of pots and pans in front of the local government headquarters in Jagüey Grande.
“If we all unite and shout freedom, the Castro-communist dictatorship will have terror and panic. It is important for the international community to see and know that the problem of the current is the least of it, the important thing is freedom and then everything else is resolved,” wrote Cántalo TV.
“Jagüey Grande is making history,” said the journalist Suney San Romanwho also shared recordings of the popular demonstration.
“Jagüeyenses in front of the municipal government demonstrate peacefully. There are the henchmen, present the MININT delegate, ”said the reporter, a native of that town and resident in the United States.
During the last two weeks, Cubans, fed up with the problems they suffer from day to day and increased after the passage of Hurricane Ian, have staged a large number of demonstrations.
These peaceful demonstrations have been suppressed, for the most part, by shock troops in civilian clothes.
Due to the protests that occurred between September 30 and October 3, the Justice 11J working group documented at least 28 arrests.
According to what the relatives of those who remain imprisoned denounced to Justice 11J, these people will be judged by “direct testimonials” criminal process that goes from the police investigation, without prosecution or trial, to the oral hearing. And it is the police, and not the prosecution, who directs the entire process.
