The Special Electoral Jury (JEE) of Lima Centro resolved all the 48 observed acts that it received after the elections of last October 2 and that were sent by the Decentralized Office of Electoral Processes (ODPE) of its jurisdiction.
The minutes correspond to the districts that are the responsibility of this JEE: Cercado de Lima, Breña and Jesús María.
In total, 46 of the 48 acts were resolved last Wednesday, October 5, after comparing the documents with the lead envelopes of the ODPE and light blue to determine the validity of the documents.
The electoral authority reviewed the various reasons for nullity such as lack of data, material errors, illegibility, lack of signatures, among others. Their decisions in the first instance may be appealed until Monday, October 10, so that they can be evaluated by the plenary session of the National Elections Jury (JNE).
On the other hand, the two remaining minutes had votes that were challenged, which were resolved on October 6 in a public hearing to hear the arguments of the political organizations that raised the questions.
In none of these hearings was the presence of any lawyer registered to exercise the right of defense of the parties. In these cases, the pronouncements of the JEE Lima Centro are definitive because the first instance was the members of the table.
Likewise, it was reported that on Wednesday, October 5, the term to formulate annulments regarding events external to the polling places expired, for which the JEE drew up a record stating that it did not receive any request of this type.
