The Ombudsman for Children and Adolescents of Ascensión de Guarayos responded to the call of the neighbors to rescue a 12-year-old boy who had been punished by his mother, who had confined him in a 6m well deep, at his home in the Los Mangos neighborhood.

The mother, between tears pointed out that he had punished his son due to inappropriate behavior towards one of her younger sisters, and that “she was not in the place of penance for even an hour”.

“A crime led to another crime. The correct thing would be that the mother had given party to the institution of the minor, in order to proceed according to law“, said Angélica Chuvirú, director of the Ombudsman for Minors and Adolescents, who took the child to the offices of that institution.

Regarding the mother, he indicated that she was not apprehended because she is lactating to a month old baby. “The report has already been passed to the judge of the minor so that it is that authority who determines his legal situation,” Chuvirú reported.
