The president of the Special Commission for the Defense of the Guayana Esequiba Territory and Territorial Sovereignty, Hermánn Escarrá, informed that in the next few days the Situational Room in Defense of Guayana Esequiba will be installed.
Escarrá’s statements were offered from the headquarters of the Bolivarian Agency for Space Activity (Abae), where the commission held its ordinary meeting.
The parliamentarian announced that the deputy, Alexis Rodríguez Cabello, will preside over the situational room, whose objective is to develop scientific studies, and carry out investigations from the institutions of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Fanb) and other State instances, on the Essequibo.
Also, Escarrá emphasized that the Essequibo is from Venezuela, so they are making all the efforts framed in the peace policy. He asserted that the commission is not working in isolation and is carrying out the proceedings under the direction of the Executive Power.
Days ago, Escarrá expressed that “Venezuela has an invariable position regarding the idea that the Essequibo is ours, and in our hands it will not be lost, neither in the hands of that great president like Nicolás Maduro, nor in those of the Armed Forces. , nor in those of the Venezuelan people.”
And he highlighted “the tireless work of the National Assembly in defense of the Essequibo.”
It is important to remember that this same commission delivered last year to the AN 100 proposals and recommendations to face the controversy over the Essequibo territory, some of which have to do with the international policy of Venezuela, which is the exclusive matter of the President of the Republic. .
For Venezuela, the territorial dispute over the Essequibo deserves a peaceful, prosperous and beneficial resolution for both nations, through friendly and flexible negotiation, as established by the 1966 Geneva Agreement.
